Out of the City, At Last

We finally made it out of the city today.  And, getting out of the city was actually the hardest part of our day.  Streets do have names, but they aren't marked, so finding the road that led out of the city in the direction we were heading took a few extra turns.  The drive towards the mountains and a lake was beautiful and full of sights that reminded me that we are strangers in a foreign land.

Donkeys have the right-of-way

And, so do sheep

And, so do horses

We finally found the lake, but we didn't make it to the water.  A nice man told us it would be another month before the water was high enough to reach by car.   We'll go back then.

This young fellow was selling flowers along the road.  I just couldn't turn him down, so we bought the three little bunches you see here.  I think Seth realized that this fellow is working and doesn't get to play Lego's all afternoon.  He has talked about how glad he is that we bought the flowers and has prayed for him and his family many times.

Our picnic

Sweet little kids that we passed.  I asked if I could take their picture, and they happily obliged.
