Pod + Gorica

Podgorica = Pod + Gorica = "under" + "the little hill" 

Pronounced POD-gorr-ih-tsə. 

There are beautiful mountains surrounding the city, but it is named for a little hill near city center. We live at the foot of this little hill and watch the sunset over it daily. A small park, church, and ropes course are on the other side. Last Saturday all the boys got to participate at their level at the Avanturisticki Park, which was hot, sweaty, affordable, good Saturday fun.

They were some tired kids by the end, and we still had to walk down the hill and find a taxi.
